The present castle took its shape in the latter stages of the 16th Century, and what that we see today is probably the result of an intensive building campaign around 1575. This castle is a fascinating piece of architecture and a real gem in the crown of Scottish buildings in this region. Surrounded by beautiful gardens, it is an excellent place to lose yourself in a historic world that hasn’t been touched by time.
