Visit the famous battle ground and heritage centre where Robert the Bruce was victorious over the English in 1314. With superb planning Bruce defeated the army of King Edward II, despite their superior numbers. The visitor centre details the momentous events in full which freed Scotland from the yolk of English rule. Children will enjoy brass rubbing and you can walk out to the battlefield site under the gaze of Robert the Bruce himself, immortalised in a statue by Pilkington Jackson.
