Stirling’s medieval parish church, at the top of the historic old town, is richly atmospheric. Its name refers to the medieval term for the Cross of Christ’s crucifixion and it has seen 600 years of worship and history. The Catholic mass was celebrated here until the Reformation changed Scotland. Since the mid 19th Century the church has been adorned by impressive stained glass windows and it also boasts the largest ‘Romantic’ organ in Scotland.
