Dumyat (pronounced Dum-i-at) is a popular hill which rises to the north of the city of Stirling at the western edge of the Ochil Hills. Although only 418 metres high it offers excellent views of the Forth Valley where the meandering river can be seen making its way towards Edinburgh and past Scotland’s biggest whiskey bond near the town of Alloa. The easiest starting point is from the Sherrrifmuir Road which runs behind the University of Stirling. Park by the road edge and follow the clear path to the summit (allow 2 hours).
