Greta Michie set up this original folk museum and retreat in 1954, and in 2004 the local authority bought the property for around eight hundred thousand pounds and it went under a major refurbishment programme. It is filled with fascinating artefacts that have been collected together in order to protect and preserve the rich folk heritage of this area and its people.
