Loch Garry is visible from the A9 between Aviemore and Pitlochry. It is a large expanse of freshwater, close to the border between the Highlands and Central Scotland. Legend has it that the loch was home to a large kelpie (or water spirit) which tragically took the lives of seven children who were playing on the banks.
