In the hills above Crieff lies tranquil Loch Turret, bordered on the east by the Blue Crags and Choinneachain HIll and to the north-west by the Munro, Ben Chonzie. This is a beautiful area for walkers - those exploring the high eastern shore will find a good path, whereas the western path is a little more rough, but with better access to the shore. A dam at the southern end of the loch forms part of the Breadalbane Hydro Electric Scheme. In dry weather, with lower water levels, the roof and turrets of an old Victorian shooting lodge peep above the water line - a reminder of how the glen might have looked in the past.
