The St Andrews University Quadrangle, or ‘Quad’ as it is more commonly known, houses the historic arts school of the University. Founded in 1413, the Quad marks the original centre of the university, which is the third oldest in the United Kingdom. It is the location of various traditions the university holds, for example, the Raisin Monday celebrations, where hundreds of students take part in a foam fight. It is also the sight of St Salvador’s Chapel, where student exam results are pinned up upon the wall each year.
