Founded in 1874, the Stirling Smith gallery is the focus for the history and material culture of the Stirling area. Scottish history collections, fine art and archaeology are used in the main display called ’The Stirling Story’, which explores the history of the town over the past Millennium. There are changing temporary exhibitions programme, lunch time talks and other events. The gallery café serves lunches and light refreshments and there is also a shop. Admission to the gallery and art museum is free with car park and wheelchair access.
