Towering over the historic market town of Dolgellau, the Cader Idris mountain range is one of Snowdonia’s hidden treasures. The mountain range is accessible both on foot and by single track road, winding its way up steep inclines from Dolgellau (alternative access from the tiny village of Arthog). Car parking and toilets are available at Cregennen Lake, and the views at the top are magnificent, taking in the full natural beauty of this hidden corner of Snowdonia and the scenic Mawddach estuary below.
