Dubbed "the zoo that’s not a zoo", Jersey Zoo, founded in 1959 by author and naturalist Gerald Durrell, was, from the outset, dedicated to breeding endangered species to ensure their survival. See a host of animals including gorillas, orangutans, birds, reptiles, bats and wallabies but to name a few; visit the organic garden to find out about the food the animals eat; let the kids loose in the play area; visit the shop. Enjoy a full day out and discover the legacy left behind by this great pioneer.
