La Rue De La Corbiere, St. Brelade, Jersey JE3 8HN - Channel Islands, UK
Constructed from more than 5,000 bags of cement this is just one of three huge observation towers built on Jersey by the Germans during the war. Situated on a truly imposing site from both land and sea, and commanding tremendous views over Jersey, its original function was to direct artillery fire against targets out at sea. Later used by Jersey’s marine radio, the structure is now in its third incarnation as holiday accommodation and is a truly impressive location to visit and unique place to stay.
