Allithwaite is a small village situated close to the town of Grange-over-Sands on the Cartmel peninsula. Formerly part of Lancashire until 1974, today it belongs to the county of Cumbria and lies just outside the Lake District National Park. The last wolf in England was reputedly slain near here.
