Dalton Castle is a 14th century tower in the main street of the town of Dalton-in-Furness on the edge of the Lake District National Park. It houses a local exhibition by the Friends of Dalton Castle and a display about the painter George Romney who was a native of Dalton. The castle was built by the Abbot of Furness and has walls that are six feet thick. Dalton Castle has an interesting history and can be viewed on Saturday afternoons in the summer.
