The North Pennines has been an area where there has been a great deal of mineral mining activity throughout the centuries. This fascinating museum is dedicated to preserving the long history of the machines and people that were involved in this practice. The main exhibitions here include The Power of Water, Mineral Panning, The Brewery Shaft and a visit to Carr’s Mine. The centre offers a fun day out for the family.
