There is little except the ruins left of this castle, which once would have been one of the most important sites of military strength here in Cumbria. Ulther Pendragon, the father of King Arthur, died here, making the beautiful site next to the River Eden one of historical importance. The castle was restored and destroyed on several occasions throughout the Middle Ages. There are several interesting exhibits here, where you can learn more about the property and the beautiful surroundings.
