Sizergh Castle & Garden is set in a 1600-acre estate criss-crossed by public footpaths that offer short walks from the castle to dramatic viewpoints over Morecambe Bay and the Lake District fells. The castle was built in the Middle Ages (and extended in Elizabethan times) by the Strickland family and remains their home today. The garden is beautifully landscaped and includes two lakes and a superb rock garden much of which was restored by the National Trust.
