St Michael and All Angels is a church that has an overwhelming history. There has been a place of worship on this site for almost a thousand years. The church’s current structure is therefore a mishmash of parts from different historical periods. Its tower dates back to Norman times whereas the roof and bell chamber are 16th Century. Its stained glass windows are more modern, as its originals were destroyed by a Roundhead army during the English Civil War. There are also a number of memorials and statues that make this holy building exceptionally unique.
