Completed in 1616, this beautiful mansion is a fine example of Jacobean architecture. Visitors enter through The Hall, one of the greatest rooms in the mansion. It is decorated with rich wood panelling, exposed timber beams and one end features a huge and heavily decorated wooden screen extending to ceiling height. The landscaped gardens were designed by Capability Brown and feature temples, bridges and memorials. Families can enjoy a ride a ride through the woodland on the Audley End Miniature Railway, which operates both steam and diesel engines.
