This centre contains a great many aircraft that were actively involved in the Battle of Britain and the air war that raged throughout the 1940s. There is a Lancaster, five Spitfires, two Hurricanes, two Chipmunks and a Dakota in the collection. The aeroplanes can all still fly and on occasion take to the air in displays at the air base. The visitor’s centre has a great deal of interesting information on the aircraft and their histories.
