Beccles Quay, gateway to the Broads, was once a large herring port. Today, fishing boats have been replaced with Broads cruisers on their way through the Broads National Park, Britain's largest protected wetland and third largest inland waterway. Reasons for stopping here include a pub, a cafe, a tourist office and wonderful views of the River Waveney. Visitors can also join tours of the broads here and a popular regatta takes place every August.
