Belton House in Lincolnshire is a picturesque English country house dating from the 17th century. Now owned by the National Trust, it was the property of the Brownlow and Cust families for around 350 years. In 1936 Belton House and its then owner Perry Brownlow played a leading role in the abdication of King Edward VIII when he chose Mrs Simpson over the English throne. The house has also featured as a film location for the BBC in several period dramas including 'Pride and Prejudice', 'Tom Jones' and in the 2006 adaptation of 'Jane Eyre'.
