Balkeney Guildhall is owned and managed by English Heritage and shows the remains of a prosperous Blakeney merchant’s house. One of the most interesting features is the brick vaulted undercroft, constructed in the late 15th Century. After serving as a private home, the building became the local fish merchant’s trading hall before falling into disrepair. The remains show good examples of building techniques during the medieval era.
