Bradenham takes its name from an Anglo Saxon term meaning ‘broad enclosure’, a reference to the position of the village in a wide valley at the heart of the Chiltern Hills. The National Trust purchased the entire village in 1956 to protect its unique properties and surroundings that include St Botolph Parish Church and the exquisite red brick Bradenham Manor.
