The commuter town of Brentwood is largely a residential community inhabited by London workers and employees of Ford, with the car giant’s UK headquarters based here. Its tourist appeal has grown in recent years, with a theatre, parks and sports centres on hand. Brentwood Railway Station to the south of town links with London Liverpool Street.

  Latest Brentwood Review

There really is so much to say about Brentwood. It is much maligned in the media, but give it a chance and experience it for yourself and I am sure you’ll give it a glowing school report. My favourite places have to be Brentwood Cathedral, the theatre and the stunning countryside just a few miles outside the city centre. Brentwood is much much more than you might imagine.   - Paul Glass

I found out when I was visiting the local history museum that Brentwood is derived from an ancient name meaning burnt wood. Not too surprising when in medieval times the town was woodland and the main industry was charcoal burning. Today it is a cosmopolitan town with a High Street jam packed with shops, museums, leisure centres and other attractions but just outside the town there's stunning countryside too.   - Ollie5
