Bungay Museum was established by Dr. Hugh Cane, and officially opened by Lilias Rider Haggard, daughter of the writer Sir Henry Rider Haggard, in 1963. The museum itself is small and consists of 2 small interconnecting rooms upstairs on the first floor of the Waveney District Council Office in Broad Street. Room one holds three display cases of coins and general items from the Norman to Victorian periods. Room two has 4 display cases containing the local Scott family´s relics, flints and fossils, printing history, books and miscellaneous local objects.
