Buttrums Mill is situated to the north west of Woodbridge in Burkitt Road and is well signed off the A12 Woodbridge by-pass. It is a six story brick built tower dating from 1836 which is now fully restored with 4 huge, 200 shuttered, sails. Visitors are shown how the cap is automatically turned to face the wind by the small six-bladed fantail. There is a great display about the mill on the ground floor. The mill is the tallest surviving windmill in Suffolk.
