Built in 1432 by Sir John Falstaff, Caister Castle had only one of five such licenses granted by Henry VI. It is an impressive moated brick quadrangle fortress on the site of an earlier fortified manor house. With a high curtain wall flanked by square and round towers it is complete with gunloops. At the corners are open back round bastions having arrow loops. The castle and grounds are also home to the largest private collection of motor vehicles in Britain.
