The University of Cambridge Herbarium was opened in 1761, beginning as a few samples of plant life from the local area, and now is home to over a million samples of pressed, mounted and named specimens from across the globe. Many of the specimens that Charles Darwin collected on his voyage on the ‘Beagle’ are in this collection, an important and fascinating collection.
