Located a few miles away from King’s Lynn in the charming North Norfolk coastal countryside, Castle Rising is one of the best-preserved and lavishly decorated keeps in the whole of Britain. The structure was begun in 1138 by William d’Albini for his new wife. In the 14th Century the castle became an extravagant place of exile for Queen Isabella, the widow and alleged murderess of King Edward II.
