Christ’s Piece is a formal Victorian garden set in the very heart of Cambridge. It was originally conceived in 1884 when Jesus College decided to sell the land to create an area for public recreation. Since that time the park has been one of the central focuses of both city and university life. The clever planting practices mean that the park is colourful and in bloom almost all year round. In 1999 the park was added to with a Diana Princess of Wales memorial Rose Garden.
