The home and 18th Century gardens of William Cowper, poet, translator of Homer, letter-writer and gardener. Displays memorabilia of Cowper and John Newton, evangelical curate of Olney, former sea-trader and world-famous author of “Amazing Grace”. Also greatly assisted William Wilberforce to abolish slavery. The museum also contains nationally important bobbin lace collections and items of local history, roman coins and dinosaur bones.
