Ely is one of the smallest cities in the country, and stands in the Fens at the heart of Cambridgeshire. The great cathedral, or the ‘Ship of the Fens’ as it is often called, is the most recognisable and symbolic man made feature of the city. However, there is a very long religious, social and political history to find out about which involves the whole community and is documented in this first class museum.
