This is the only public foot ferry linking Suffolk to Essex. The ferry service, connecting Felixstowe, Shotley and Harwich, runs during the summer months to provide a frequent service for visitors, business people and locals. This service preserves the historic ferry links between the ports that have existed since 1912. The ferry is also available for private hire as a water taxi and for trips around Harwich harbour or along the rivers Orwell and Stour.
