Fen Causeway is untouched by the modern age. A large fallow area of greenery on the banks of the River Cam, the causeway leads into the centre of the city along the river, providing a green belt of land separating the river from the buildings. The land is owned by the university and has been particularly save in order to maintain a balance between buildings and pastoral scenes in the ancient city. It is a popular place for people to walk in the summer months.
