The University’s Catholic Chaplaincy has been based in its historic building since 1924, before which time the building was an inn and hostel. The society has deep historic and religious roots in the city and behind the deceptively small front to the building there is a large hall for mass, a chapel, library, bar and roof garden. The Chaplaincy hopes to attract visitors from all over the world, although predominantly a university service, the public are welcome to look around and discuss ecclesiastical issues within the building. The service is based on a premise of friendliness and welcome.
