The first recording of this water mill was in 1767, but it is fairly well thought by archaeologists and historians that the mill has been in place for a great deal longer than that. The mill stayed in service as one of the main working areas of the local industry until the early 1960s. It has since then been restored and offers a fascinating visitor attraction for locals and tourists.
