Framlingham Castle is a wonderful example of a stone fortress. Built well over seven hundred years ago, it took nearly forty years to finish. Its complete curtain wall is connected by thirteen towers, each capped with beautiful Tudor chimneys. Only the poor house and outbuildings remain internally but, once inside, you can walk along the top of the castle wall to take in some breathtaking views of Framlingham and the Suffolk countryside. There is also a gift shop and interesting historic audio tour to go on.
