Ranked by Country Life magazine as the best place to live in the country in 2006, the East Suffolk market town of Framlingham is notably home to England’s oldest Post Office red pillar boxes, dating to the mid-1800s. Framlingham Castle is worthy of a visit while Arts Framlingham, an annual summer arts event, sees the participation of other nearby villages.

  Latest Framlingham Review

The first thing I noticed on my visit to Framlington is the imposing presence of the 12th Century Castle that overlooks the River Mere. Then I saw the nature reserve below the castle walls with a huge variety of bird life. The town itself is an ancient market place and it's lovely just walking through the town looking at all the period buildings. A lovely place to visit any time of the year.   - Steve Graham
