A market has been held here since the 13th Century. Today, it is said to be the largest open-air market in England, and on sale is everything from chips to china. Market days are Wednesdays, Saturdays and, in summer, Fridays, although there's a small market here most days of the week. Market Place itself has many fine period houses. A reminder that Great Yarmouth was once one of the wealthiest towns in England.
