Founded in 1966, Halesworth Art Gallery was created to promote painting and sculpture for the benefit of both visitors and artists, and all works are for sale. The gallery shows mostly work by artists who are connected in some way with East Anglia. These have included Elisabeth Frink, Felix Topolski, Mary Potter and Joseph Herman. The gallery's home used to be the town's almshouses. The building dates from at least 1478, when it was mentioned in the Court Roll.
