This is one of only two surviving purpose-built circus buildings in Britain. Built in 1903, it even had a sinking ring, which could be filled with water. Entertainments today include international circus performers such as the clown, Chico Rico, trapeze acts, such as The Bull Dancers, and world-renowned jugglers. Other non-circus performers include pop and rock acts and musicals. The Hippodrome has a licensed bar.
