This museum overlooks the picturesque village of Stansted Mountfitchet and houses the largest private toy collection in Europe. There are over 80,000 exhibits in this 7000 square foot museum ranging from Victorian toys and games to pieces from the modern day. The collection began with the curator Alan Goldsmith buying a Hornby train set in 1946 and developed from there. It is now managed and owned by Mr. Goldsmith and his son who are experts in the field and are often to be seen appearing on television and radio programmes about antiques. The museum is open to the public all year.
