Ipswich Haven Marina was built in 2000. Since then, it has been so popular that it has been enlarged twice, bringing the total number of berths to 250. Its popularity probably owes much to its location at the head of the beautiful River Orwell. Voted by the Royal Yachting Association as one of the most picturesque rivers in the country, the Orwell is also only a short sail from mainland Europe, bringing vessels from France, Germany, Belgium and Holland.
