Leiston Film Theatre is Suffolk’s oldest purpose built cinema and can be found along the main high street in the centre of Leiston. On 27th October 1914 the Leiston Picture House opened its doors for the first time. The original picture house had a capacity for 700 people; it had a small stage and a pit for the then ubiquitous organ. The secret to its continued success is its ability to change with the times and after a re-refurbishment, completed in July 2001, is ready for the 21st Century.
