Long Crendon Courthouse is a National Trust property dating from 1500 and situated at the end of the high street of this picturesque Buckinghamshire village. It has been preserved for both its historical and architectural importance, being saved from demolition in 1900. The courthouse was the base for parish activities for four hundred years as well as the venue for the annual manorial court which dealt with tithes and misdemeanors such as selling bad fish, brewing without a licence, or overcharging customers. It is a fine example of a timber-framed building and the roof beams have been restored to display their construction.
