This is a very striking memorial, made all the more striking by its location right alongside the seafront in Harwich. Across the water is the massive port of Felixstowe with the huge container ships similar to the one's that were lost during the war. The men who served on these were heroes and this simple obelisk is in their honour. I doff my cap to their heroic efforts and sacrifices.
