The National Horse Racing Museum is wedged next door to the wonderful Jockey Club building in Newmarket High Street, some 15 to 20 minutes walk from the train station. The large and inviting entrance gates hide a fairly small and compact museum dedicated to giving a fascinating insight into the horse racing industry. One unusual attraction is the Practical Gallery. You can "tack up a model horse" or " dress up in silks before weighing out and riding a horse simulator, then pose in front of the winner’s blanket!"
