The top of this 85 feet tall tower affords panoramic views of the sea, the town of Walton and in the distance, the great cranes of Felixstowe port. Sited upon fossil rich cliffs, the octagonal, brick built tower was erected in 1721 by Trinity House as a navigational marker for the port of Harwich and is known locally simply as the landmark. A central spiral stair winds to the castellated roof. Several floors are given to galleries of local artists work.
