Needham Lake is situated just off Coddenham Road on the edge of Needham Market and is well sign posted off the main A14 Ipswich to Newmarket road. The lake is a flooded former gravel pit that is now home to a wide variety of birds and wildlife in a wonderfully peaceful location in the Suffolk countryside. Running along the banks of the River Gipping, the lake is used for non-motor water sports such as canoeing and model boating, also fishing, by prior arrangement. It also has some large picnic areas.
